Rincón de la Subbética (Organic) (500ml)
The world's most awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Almazaras de la Subbética & Ithaca Bound
On a trip to southern Spain in 2020, one of the first three olive oil companies Andrew Schiestel visited was Almzaras de la Subbética (the producer of Rincón de la Subbética). (The company appeared in this Ithacabound.com article published on September 27, 2020)
Situated in the protected region of origin of Priego de Córdoba (PDO Priego de Córdoba), and nestled amongst the Subbética mountains in Córdoba, Spain, Almazaras de la Subbética is a co-operative comprised of about 7,800 Spanish farmers. Each year, the co-op produces, amongst other Extra Virgin Olive OIls, its flagship product, Rincón de la Subbética. (Hojiblanca variety)
Subsequently, Rincón de la Subbética and its sibling EVOOs Parqueoliva Serie Oro and Almaoliva Arbequina were the first olive oils that Ithaca Bound purchased.
In 2024, Ithaca Bound Imports was asked by Almazaras de la Subbética to do the great honour of pouring its first bottle of the 2024/2025 season. (Rincón de la Subbética is the world's most awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil and in the 2024 EVOOLEUM Awards, ranked #2 in the world (amongst over 1000 submissions)) (And holds a high 4.7/5 EVOO rating) This pouring took place at the company's oil mill and office in Carcabuey, Córdoba.

On November 11, 2024, Andrew Schiestel of Ithaca Bound poured the first Rincón de la Subbética of the 2024/2025 season. (Carcabuey, Spain)
Rincón de la Subbética is available at wholesale pricing for retail sales through Ithaca Bound Imports.
(Some interesting linguistic information — Almazaras is a Spanish word that means "Oil mills" and is based on Arabic (For instance, in Tunisian Arabic, El maasrat / ال معصرات means "The oil mills"); Subbética is the mountain range in the region; and Rincón means Nook (So Almazaras de la Subbética translates as “Oil mills of the Subbetica” and Rincón de la Subbética translates as "Nook of the Subbetica")
